A rescue helicopter crashed on a mountain in Chichibu, and five people aboard died.
Before the accident, two rescue workers, who had been on the helicoper, had been lowered to the ground to help a 55-yea-old female climber in a waterfall basin. The five people who died were a pilot, a copilot, two prefectural aviation safety workers, and arescue worker from a local fire department. The helicoper used for disaster prevention had been call out to help a climber on the mountain when it crashed around 11 a.m. about 4 km. southwest of the Kariska tunnel on National Route 140. There was no rain or wind in the area around Chichibu when the accident took place, though an advisory for heavy rain and lightning had been issued The land Transport and Tourism Ministry said the downed aircraft was seen smoldering but had not caught on fire.
In my opinoin, this news is bad news for five people who died's family and friend but this happen can be a warning for other pilot or rescue workers to be more careful when they are working and check the aircraft before take off exactly.
